Zarafet ve Asaletin At Güzellik Yarışmasında Buluşması
“Bir güzellik yarışması olsa da ne kadar güzel olduğumu görseler…” diyen atlar podyumdaydılar. Jürinin önünden geçerken güzelliklerinin ne kadar farkında olduklarını anlatan bir edaları vardı ki görmeye değer. Hepsi de güzel, hepsi de birbirinden bakımlı…
Arap (Türkiye’de yetiştirilen), şov Arap, Frizyen, İspanyol olmak üzere 4 farklı kategoride yarışan atlara eşlik eden bakıcıları ve sahipleri de bir o kadar özenli ve şık giyinmişlerdi. Yarışmada iki özel konuğumuzda Fransız ve Ahal Teke atlarıydı. Shetland poniler de yarışmaya sevimlilikleriyle renk kattılar. 32 atın sadece İstanbul çevresinden değil, Eskişehir, Ankara, Balıkesir, Kartepe, Sakarya’dan büyük bir özveriyle getirilmiş olmaları da at sahiplerinin atlarına verdiği önemi ve bu konuda daha ne kadar ilerleyeceğimizi gösteriyor. Gösterdikleri ilgi ve özveriyle verdikleri destekten dolayı at sahiplerini kocaman alkışlıyoruz.
‘Türkiye’de güzel şeyler olsun’sloganımız olup, bu hedefimizin en önemli etkinliklerinden birisi at güzellik yarışmasıdır. “At güzellik yarışması, at kültürünün halka tanıtılmasını sağlayan önemli bir etkinliktir.”
At güzellik yarışması ile birincil olarak Türkiye’de at bakım kalitesini yükseltmeyiamaç ediniyoruz. Bu etkinlik sektöre at bakımı için bir rol modeli oluyor.
Atçılık geleneğimizin yaşamasını sağlamak ikincil hedefimizdir. Bunu etkinliği halka açık ve ulaşılabilir hale getirerek yapıyoruz. Halkın atçılığı benimsemesi ve sahiplenmesine destek oluyoruz.
Üçüncü hedefimiz de atçılık sektöründeki ekonomiyi canlandıracak bir ortam sunuyoruz.
Peki bu güzeller nasıl seçiliyor?
Öncelikli olarak atların geneli için standart kriterlerimiz var. Fiziksel görünüm, boyun yapısı, baş ve yüz, ayak ve bacaklar, yele, kuyruğun dolgunluğu, ipeksi ve bakımlı görünümü, atın donu (tüyünün rengi) ve parlaklığı kriterlerinin altındaki başlıklar değerlendiriliyor.
Jüri ikincil olarak da atların cinslerine göre belirlenen kriterlere bakıyor
Örneğin; Frizyen atları uzun ana hatları ve kuyruklarıyla tanınır. Ayrıca ayaklarında uzun tüyleri de vardır. Saçları ve kuyrukları uzun olmalı çünkü bu ırkta diğer ırklardan farklı olarak saç ve kuyruk kesme hiç makbul değildir. Frizyen için en temel özellik ise simsiyah olması. Üzerindeki milim beyaz renk puan kaybettirir.
Şov Arap cinsinin güzellik yarışmasında sergilenmesi gereken önemli kriterlerden iki tanesi kuyruk ve başın duruşudur. Bu teknik bir konudur. Atın kuyruk kasının çıkış noktası ve kuyruğun duruş derecesine dikkat edilir. İdeal kuyruk duruşu 90 derecedir. Baş duruşunda ise boyun hafifçe kavisli şekilde başın yüksek durmasına katkıda bulunmalıdır. İdeal boyun duruşu horoz duruşudur. İstenen kriterlerde gerçekleşen kuyruk ve boyun duruşunun jüri önünde sergilenmesi gerekir. At günlük hayatında yaptığı güzel duruşları eğer jüri önünde sergileyemezse puan alamaz.
Arap atında burun delikleri geniş ve belirgin olmalı, gözler iri ve badem şeklinde parlak olmalı. Bakışların boş boş olmaması, dostane ve asil ifade taşıması da önemlidir.
Heyecanlı atları zaptetmek zor olduğundan yarışmamız hızlıca akıp geçti.
Biz de yüzümüzü bir sonraki yarışmaya döndük ve çalışmalara şimdiden başladık. Atların asaleti ve güzellikleriyle ‘Türkiye’ye güzel şeyler olsun’ sloganımızı gerçekleştirmeye devam edeceğiz.

The horses, saying “If only there were a beauty contest so they could see how beautiful I am…” were on the runway. Their demeanor as they walked past the judges showed just how aware they were of their beauty, and it was a sight to behold. All were beautiful, all were impeccably groomed…
Accompanied by their caretakers and owners, who were just as meticulous and elegantly dressed, horses competed in four different categories: Arabians (bred in Turkiye), show Arabians, Frisians, and Spanish horses. We had two special guests: French and Akhal-Teke horses. The Shetland ponies added a touch of cuteness to the competition. The fact that the 32 horses were brought not only from around İstanbul but also from Eskişehir, Ankara, Balıkesir, Kartepe, and Sakarya with great dedication demonstrates how much their owners care for them and how far we have come in this regard. We give a big round of applause to the horse owners for their support and dedication.
Our slogan is “Let there be beautiful things in Turkiye,”and one of the most important events for this goal is the horse beauty contest. “The horse beauty contest is an important event that helps introduce horse culture to the public.”
Our primary goal with the horse beauty contest is to raise the quality of horse care in Turkiye. This event serves as a role model for the industry in terms of horse care.
Our secondary goal is to keep our horsemanship tradition alive. We achieve this by making the event accessible and open to the public, supporting the public’s adoption and appreciation of horsemanship.
Our third goal is to provide an environment that revitalizes the economy in the horsemanship sector.
So how are these beauties selected?
Firstly, we have standard criteria for all horses. We evaluate physical appearance, neck structure, head and face, feet and legs, mane, the fullness and silky, well-groomed appearance of the tail, the coat color and its shine.
Secondly, the jury looks at criteria specific to each breed. For example, Friesian horses are known for their long manes and tails, as well as long hair on their legs. Their manes and tails should be long because, unlike other breeds, cutting the hair and tail is not acceptable for Friesians. The most essential feature of a Friesian is its pitch-black color. Any bit of white loses points.
Two important criteria for show Arabians in a beauty contest are the position of the tail and the head. This is a technical matter. Attention is given to the exit point of the tail muscle and the angle at which the tail is held. The ideal tail position is 90 degrees. For the head position, the neck should be slightly curved to help the head stay high. The ideal neck position is the rooster stance. The tail and neck positions that meet the desired criteria must be displayed before the jury. If a horse cannot demonstrate its beautiful stance in front of the jury, it will not receive points.
For Arabian horses, the nostrils should be wide and prominent, the eyes large and almond-shaped with a bright shine. The look should not be empty but carry a friendly and noble expression.
As it was difficult to manage the excited horses, our competition went by quickly.
We have already turned our attention to the next competition and started preparations. With the nobility and beauty of the horses, we will continue to realize our slogan “Let there be beautiful things in Turkiye.”
